UPDATE (03/28/23)
It has been 1 week since the cats were treated by a vet and placed in recovery. They are eating well, taking meds and pooping (yes, it’s a big deal, lol!). They hide in their carrier placed inside the crate mostly (it gives them a sense of security), but come out to eat and use the litter box. The wounds still look awful, but are showing signs of healing. They are no longer red and raw. Special thanks to all who donated. If you haven’t donated, it’s not too late! Please consider a $5 donation or whatever you can afford to help us help them! You can make a difference!
UPDATE (03/24/23) See photos below.
Volunteers were able to trap both injured cats and have them treated by a local vet. Under anesthesia, an exam revealed one kitty had severe dental issues and several teeth were extracted.
Both cats are now recovering in a home where they are comfortable in a secure and quiet room and being monitored carefully in their individual crates. They are also on antibiotics twice daily.
If you would like to support this fundraiser, be assured that your donation will be used to cover expenses incurred helping homeless animals that need it most. Please help us reach our goal. No amount is too small.

CREATE (03/15/23)
The two (2) cats pictured have serious open wounds that will require veterinary care. They are part of the RSVP, Inc. Outreach Program that maintains approx. 150 homeless cats spread across different colony locations on Eastern Long Island. Our program provides TNR services (trap, neuter, return), outdoor shelter, food/water daily and medical care when possible. Life for these animals can be particularly harsh, as they are exposed to the elements, injuries and other risks.
Volunteers are coordinating efforts to trap and transport these two cats to a local vet, to be sedated, examined and treated. In addition, accommodations for their recovery have been arranged, to enable both animals to heal before being returned to their respective colonies.
Your donation, however small, will be used to relieve their pain and suffering and enable our volunteers to maintain these colonies, that have nowhere else to turn for help. Thank you in advance for caring.
*RSVP, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit, animal welfare organization that has been serving the communities on Eastern Long Island since 1996. The group was originally established as the Riverhead Shelter Volunteer Program, and later named “Responsible Solutions for Valued Pets”.
